All patients are entitled to the same health services regardless of language, culture, and origin. We refer to two major regulations:
Anti-Discrimination and Accessibility Act (2008)

Extortion Policy

Any content or attempt to force any other user to do something they are not obligated to do so is considered as extortion and is prohibited on MedMe.

Reviews play an important role on MedMe by providing means for the Patients and Healthcare Providers to share their experiences with each other. Exploiting this system for extortion is prohibited.
It is forbidden for a Patient to attempt to use reviews and the rating system to force a Healthcare Provider to provide refunds, additional compensation, or a reciprocal positive review. Similarly, Healthcare Providers are prohibited to persuade any Patient to provide positive review, revise personal opinion or an existing review in exchange for a free or discounted treatment, partial or full refund, or reciprocal review.

All users of MedMe are expected to comply with these Terms and Guidelines. Upon failing to do so, you may be subject to a range of actions, including restrictions, suspension and/or termination of your account.

If you have experienced extortion or any misuse, please report it to MedMe Support. We recommend communicating with your Patient or Healthcare Provider via our messaging system, even after an appointment request is accepted, so that you may provide solid evidence for our Administrators should any unforeseen problems occur.

Medical Confidentiality Policy

Medical Confidentiality is a cornerstone of MedMe. The built-in messaging system provides the the traditional level of privacy and confidentiality exercised in Doctor-Patient interactions.

Healthcare Providers should prevent others from gaining access to information or knowledge about their Patients’ health or medical conditions or of other personal circumstances that they learn in their capacity as Healthcare Provider. This implies that the Providers must make every effort to handle such information in confidence and are forbidden to hand over or provide any information or knowledge about their Patients’ health or medical conditions or of other personal circumstances for a Third Party without the knowledge and consent of the Patient.

The Patient is eligible to make a statement about (1) who can be informed about the Patient’s health and medical circumstances, disease, and the treatment’s expected outcome; (2) who is excluded from being informed partially or completely about the aforementioned details.

In the event of a Medical Provider sharing a case report or case presentation with a Patient or in public, they have to follow and comply with the rules for scientific case studies. We emphasize that Patient(s) can NOT be identified (all personal information are confidential) in such presentations and the Medical Provider must have a written statement from each participating Patient in which the Patient consents that the Medical Provider may publish the case.

Cancellations and Refunds

MedMe does not play a financial intermediary role between the Patient and the Healthcare Provider but provides the online marketplace for establishing connection, working out the details of the particular treatment.
Every financial transaction, e.g. Final / Advance payment, is conducted directly between the Patient and the Healthcare Provider. MedMe is not liable for resolving any dispute amongst the two parties, in particular, MedMe is not liable to issue refunds to any of the parties.

Should a booking be cancelled by one of the parties, the other party has the option to provide feedback to MedMe. Even though MedMe is not playing any role in resolving disputes, we provide guidelines for Vis Major circumstances.

Vis Major circumstances: Cancellation by Patient

The Patient may need to cancel an already confirmed reservation in a Vis Major situation (an occurrence that is neither caused by nor preventable by humans) where extenuating circumstances arise.

Vis Major circumstances: Cancellation by Healthcare Provider

Normally, upon cancellation by the Healthcare Provider, MedMe may apply cancellation penalties. However, if the Healthcare Provider needs to cancel an already confirmed reservation in a Vis Major situation (an occurrence that is neither caused by nor preventable by humans), these penalties do not apply.

The Standards for Healthcare Providers are aimed to build the trust of Patients seeking treatments on MedMe. These help the Providers to use the site more efficiently by earning supportive reviews.

Note that your ratings will affect your placement in the search results, as well.
